Metro Park - Our New Venue

After three years in Western Reserve, Orewa - where, to be fair, it could be somewhat *soft* underfoot - the 2024 event will instead be held at Metro Park, Millwater. This is at the exact 5km point of the previous event so the 10km course will not change at all.

Metro Park is a wide open space (with excellent drainage!) which will allow us to spread out and bring our full race production. The area is a popular running venue and the starting point for the Millwater Parkrun. The park itself features extensive playing fields and a wide concrete utility path - ideal for flat and fast running and walking.

Run Orewa - Let's Get Summer Started

R.un Orewa is the perfect summer starter. Race One of the North Shore Run Series is situated mid-October, just as the weather is getting warmer, the sun is shining and another great summer of fitness awaits in the City of Sails. In three previous editions, not a drop of rain has been felt and the sun has shone brightly throughout.

Event distances go from the "main event" 10K Classic - which takes in one full lap of the Te Ara Tahuna walkway - the more achievable 5k Fun Run & Walk - which snakes around part of the walkway near Millwater - right up to the 15k event - which combines the 10k and 5k courses. For our junior athletes, the 2k Kids Dash is a straight out blast along the wide Metro Park footpaths and back to the finish line.

All finishers in all events will receive an exclusive Harcourts Cooper & Co Run Orewa finisher medal … a collector's item and a great token of a goal achieved!
